A New Hope

It isn’t Episode IV, but it is the first blog post I’ve written in several months. Why, you may ask, have I neglected my duty as purveyor of all things cachaça to an English-speaking audience? Well, quite frankly other priorities gathered my attention. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to focus more on cachaça, but my mind has been focused on other things. Namely a new job.

Now, this might not seem like a big deal to some, but to me, it has meant a great deal. In addition to that, I’ve been traveling and haven’t had a lot of opportunity for down time or alone time, or even time to think much about cachaça. It’s because of this lack of focus that I’ve failed to produce anything written.

To be sure, I’ve tried new cachaça over the past several months. Even tried new cachaça that I like. However, when it has come to sitting for a moment, collecting my thoughts, and hitting the keyboard, I’ve been a dismal failure. It might seem easy to pump out 350 words a week. And, usually, it is. But when your mind isn’t in it,  your mind isn’t in it.

In the near future, I hope to have a bit more exciting news, and even some updates to the cachaça section of this blog. I might even be taking a trip in the near future. I’ll let you know as all those things come together, so you won’t miss a thing. Not that you’ve probably been missing me so much. On the other hand, maybe you have!

And if you have been missing content from cachaça for gringos, fear not. Don’t hang your head. Don’t cry in your caipirinha. Trust me when I say that the best is yet to come. And I don’t mean that in a stand at a podium screeching type way. I mean it in a very serious way. Well, not serious, but in an exciting way. You’ll see soon enough. And when it does happen, you’ll understand why I’ve been away for a bit longer than I would’ve liked. All in good time, young Skywalkers.
