I didn’t know what to expect with this one. I had no point of reference. But a cachaça aged five years in European Oak from Cachaçaria Nacional’s monthly club? It’s likely to be at least decent. That’s not an accurate statement. The extra premium label is supposed to denote something that a distillery creates with care and thought; it imparts a suggestion of great quality, which the consumer should consider when making a purchase.
This one is more than decent. It’s quite good. I’ll be honest, I took this bottle to a friend’s house and didn’t get to do an entire sensory analysis. However, with a cane nose and a spicy, slightly complex palate, I was quite impressed. Everyone at the tiny get-together agreed.
I’m in luck because I have another bottle from the same producer I’ve yet to open. If it’s anything like the one I’ve already tried, which I’m sure it will be, the cachaça will be good.
I’m not going to pretend like you’re about to get a taste of this one because you’re not. But if you’re reading this and you live in Brazil, it’s worth picking up a bottle for yourself.
