Meia Noite Classica
Meia Noite is the first cachaça from Brasilia I’m posting about. It’s not the first I’ve consumed, although there aren’t really very many. I suppose the closest I’ve actually come to consuming a cachaça from the region is Cambeba and Orizona. Both of those are made in Goias. And, surprise, Meia Noite is actually a brand that is a blend of two regional cachaças.
As a silver, one wouldn’t think a blend would create a tasty silver. However, in this case, Meia Noite does quite well. It’s lean and flavorful, without any fire. It is a smooth, sippable cachaça, with a pleasant cane nose, and silky overtones that make it go down smooth. I have yet to put it in a mixed drink. But, it honestly doesn’t need to be in one. It’s fine on its own. I’m sure it will make any mixed drink better, however.
Could it be coming soon to a place near you? Who knows.
